This time, the boat-nominated candidates won in both these seats.

Gabtoli Upazila is where BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was born. For this reason, Bogra-7 is known as the "Zia family seat". BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia won this seat by a huge margin from the 1991 to 2008 national elections. She was nominated for this seat in 2018 as well. However, she could not contest the election that year.
Khaleda Zia also contested three consecutive elections from Bogra-6 constituency. She also filed her nomination papers in the 2018 election. However, her nomination was cancelled due to her conviction.
