Rajshahi Bureau: On the night of June 18, 2018, a group of miscreants were trying to incite Hindu-Muslim riots by spreading rumors that a mosque had been attacked in Hetemkhan Lichubagan Mohalla of Rajshahi under the leadership of Rocky Kumar Ghosh. Not only the administration but also politicians struggled to handle that rumor. After that, a strong investigation committee was formed by the administration to find out the correct information and motive. However, along with this, media workers did not stop searching for information.
In continuation of this, on 14 January 22 (Friday) before the sermon of Jumma prayers in the same mosque, Zakir Hossain Shaon, the leader who led one of the parties that day (former general secretary of Ward No. 10 Awami Jubo League), described Rocky Kumar Ghosh as innocent. Shaon also mentioned in his speech that the incident that day was centered on the issue of children. Therefore, he appeals to all the guardians to discipline their children.
Advocate Musabbir Hossain, Legal Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Rajshahi Metropolitan Branch, Abdus Salam, President of Boalia Thana Awami League (West), Awami League President of Ward No. 11 Awami League, Azahar Ali, Swechchhasebak League leaders Jane Alam Joni, Rabbul, Bapan and more than a hundred leaders were present at the time. In addition, ordinary Muslims of the area were present.
