He commented at the special discussion meeting held on the occasion of the Great Independence Day on Thursday (March 26) at the NCP Central Office in the capital.
Asif Mahmud said, ‘Deep State’ proposed them to hold power until 2029. When we (interim government) were in charge of the government, we were initially offered from various powerful institutions, called Deep State, and we were offered - ‘You end the term of Sheikh Hasina, we will support you.’
‘The former adviser said in the ’Deep State‘ that he had some conditions, "they (Deep State) had some conditions, to make them facilitated in some places. They were bringing the roadmap that the BNP leaders are punished. Even if the election is generally held, they will not be able to vote in general elections if they are punished by turning the court dates around the court dates."
He said that Tariq Rahman (Prime Minister) was sentenced in his own name. He was in the state of being sentenced, but he could not participate in the election but they (Deep State) arranged the entire strategy (strategy)—how to stay in power, based on a kind of bargaining agreement with them. We did not agree with that.
The NCP spokesperson said they had just wanted a fair election and that the election would not be questioned, they themselves resigned from the interim government in the previous government. We saw that two important people in the previous government are in the rank of ministerial rank. Although this government has asked for our resignation in the election.
Asif Mahmud said, it is clear that they have damaged the level of playground in the elections and used them to reward them for amenities in various areas.
He added that if the proposals of the organizations known as Deep State were accepted, the constitutional continuity would have been produced for them, if the Deep State Agency was with them, everyone could have said that the elections should be held in 2029 according to the constitution. Then the government will stay until 2029. We have not made that agreement.
The meeting was also attended by NCP's joint convener Sarot Tushar Tushar, Jati Yuva Shakti convener Tariqul Islam and others.
