A motorcyclist named Abu Jafar (50) was killed in a collision with a battery-powered van while going to attend a funeral prayer in Nandigram, Bogra. The accident occurred at around 10 am on Monday (March 7) on the Bogra-Natore highway at a place called Damgara in Nandigram Municipality. The deceased Abu Jafar is the son of the late Zahir Uddin of Fokpal village in Nandigram area. It is learned that Abu Jafar was going to attend a funeral prayer in Nimgram on his motorcycle. On the way, he collided with a battery-powered auto van coming from the opposite direction at a place called Damgara. As a result, he was thrown onto the highway and seriously injured. At that time, a van passenger named Khadija Begum (30) was injured when he fell onto the highway. On receiving the news of the accident, Nandigram Fire Service personnel rescued the two injured and admitted them to Bogra Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Abu Jafar died at around 12:30 pm while undergoing treatment there. Nandigram Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwarul Islam said the motorcycle driver lost control and was injured. He later died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
