Five cows killed by gas tablets in Nandigram due to enmity

Own Correspondent, Ekattar Journal 24: Five cows were killed by feeding them poisonous gas tablets in Nandigram, Bogra. The incident took place in Sarishabad village of Union No. 1. It is learned that the wife of Mustafa Kamal (35), son of the deceased Ayez Uddin of Sarishabad (Banglabazar) area of the upazila, went to her father's house yesterday Saturday afternoon and Mustafa Kamal went to Banglabazar to have tea at 7 pm. Since no one was home at that time, someone fed gas tablets to five hostile cows. As a result, five cows were poisoned and four cows died. When one cow writhed in agony, Mustafa Kamal slaughtered it with the help of the locals.
While describing the incident, Mustafa said in a tearful voice, "Who or what has fed gas tablets to 5 of my own cows without my knowledge. The estimated value of which is 2,25,000 taka. 4 cows have died and 1 cow has been slaughtered when it writhed in agony." He also said that two months ago, someone had killed 2 of my cows with gas tablets in this way. In this regard, Nandigram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad said, "A complaint has been filed with the police station regarding the killing of 5 cows with gas in Sarishabad village. Action will be taken after investigation."
