In Nandigram, rice tins were cut and stolen from two shops

Nandigram (Bogra) Correspondent: A brazen theft took place in two shops in Dhunda Bazar of Nandigram, Bogra. In this incident, thieves took away goods worth approximately 2 lakh taka from the two shops. The theft took place at Abul Kalam Mobile Shop and Ruhul Amin's paan shop in Dhunda Bazar of the upazila on Saturday (May 14) night. Mobile shopkeepers Abul Kalam and Ruhul Amin said that they closed their shops as usual at around 10 pm on Thursday. Later that night, a group of thieves cut open the tin roof above the shop and took away goods worth about 90 thousand taka, including 40 new button mobile phones worth 50 thousand taka, recharge cards, flexiload mobile phones, memory cards, headphones and a Samsung Galaxy phone worth 15 thousand taka. Ruhul Amin, a nearby shopkeeper, said that at the same time, a group of thieves also stole from my shop. Cigarettes, bidis, soap, spit and about 70 thousand taka worth of goods including 50 thousand taka in cash from his shop were stolen. It is worth noting that an LED TV was stolen from a tea shop earlier. Local shopkeepers said that there were 2 night guards in the market. How come shop thefts happen occasionally despite the presence of night guards? Nandigram Police Station OC Anwar Hossain said in this regard that the victim businessman has filed a verbal complaint with the police station. After receiving the complaint, the police have inspected the scene. Legal action will be taken if a written complaint is received.
