BNP has ordered Fazlur Rahman to appear before the International Criminal Tribunal to explain the contempt of court allegations and senior lawyer Fazlur Rahman.
On Sunday (November 30), Justice Md. A three-member Tribunal-1 headed by Ghulam Mortuza Majumdar gave this order.
Counsel Md. Mizanul Islam held a hearing in the trial court for the complaint, along with counsel Gazi MH Tamim.
Later, Tamim told reporters that the Manniita Tribunal-1 has issued condolences against Advocate Fazlur Rahman for contempt of court.
Counsel Tamim said that the tribunal has instructed Fazlur to appear in person with his academic certificate and Bar Council certificate on December 8.
On November 26, the prosecution accused Fazlur Rahman of contempt of court, and spoke on a private television talk show on November 23 about Sheikh Hasina's Rat. Some of his statements brought to the pen drive have been heard in the Bajirt Tribunal.
Counsel Mizanul Islam has said that if the crime of contempt of court is proved, one year of imprisonment or fine of five thousand taka can be imposed together.
BNP suspended all posts including the initial member of Fazlur Rahman for three months on August 26 due to the ‘controversial’ comments about the July uprising.
On November 3, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the name of the candidate for the 237 constituencies, Fazlur's name has been included in Kishoreganj-4 (Itna, Mithamin and Ashtagram) constituencies.
