Religious factions rally against blogger for 'blasphemy'

Disturbing videos and images have emerged, following a wave of outrage over blog articles condemned by major Islamic groups.

Angry protestors are demanding immediate action against a Sylhet-based blogger Tahmina Ferdous, accusing her of blasphemy.

The blogger is facing intense backlash for claims published on articlechoice.com. The core of the controversy lies in the blogger’s critique of Islamic literature, in which she links historical accounts of the marriage between Prophet Muhammad and Aisha to the prevalence of child marriage and the abuse of minor girls in Bangladesh.

Clerics allege that some of her posts make a direct comparison between the Prophet Muhammad and a paedophile to support her false claims against Bangladeshi clerics and madrassas of systemic child sexual abuse.

This is a developing story; we will provide updates as the situation unfolds.
