RAGE IGNITES OVER FEMALE BLOGGER’S BLASPHEMOUS ATTACKS ON ISLAM

A firestorm of anger has engulfed parts of Bangladesh as furious demonstrators burn images of a provocative Sylheti blogger, Musammoth Afsana Ahmed Busra, accused of launching vicious assaults on Islam and respected Islamic scholars. The wave of protests—led by groups such as Jamaat-e-Islami —has reached a boiling point, with crowds vocally demanding the ultimate punishment for his perceived sacrilege.

According to outraged protesters, Musammoth Afsana Ahmed Busra uses her website to peddle disturbing narratives—among them, a personal account of alleged childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a religious teacher. But their fury is fuelled not by this alone, but by his sweeping accusations aimed at the Quran, Hadith, and Bangladesh’s religious institutions. Her posts, they argue, go far beyond critique — portraying religious teachers as unchecked child sexual abusers protected by scripture.

In one of her most incendiary claims, the blogger says that had the Prophet of Islam been alive today, and married Hazrat Aisha, who was around 9 years old at the time, according to authentic hadith, he would have been declared a paedophile , and sent to prison or a mental health institution.

These inflammatory statements have triggered fierce backlash from the country's religious fraternity, including ordinary practising Muslims, who have branded the writings as blasphemous and demanded uncompromising consequences. The calls for action are growing louder by the day, as public sentiment hardens against the woman many now see as a blasphemer. The anger is so deeply felt that many are branding her a “kafir”, and promising even to rape her.
