Open sugar price fixed at Rs.74

In view of the increase in prices in the global market, the government has re-determined the price of sugar in the domestic market. Today (Thursday), the Ministry of Commerce held a meeting with mill owners at the Secretariat. After the meeting, the price of loose sugar was fixed at Tk 74 per kg and packet sugar at Tk 75 per kg. In the past few months, the price of sugar has been between Tk 60 and Tk 65 per kg.

Bangladesh will buy another 10 million doses of vaccine

Bangladesh will buy about 100 million vaccines from Chinese pharmaceutical companies Sinopharm and Sinovac. According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these vaccines will be purchased through COVAX. Although Bangladesh was supposed to receive 60 million vaccines free of charge from COVAX, so far Bangladesh has received 12.5 million doses of vaccines. The remaining vaccines will also be available in a short time.
