Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that on the occasion of Mujib Borsh, some houses and walls of the Prime Minister's gift built under the Asharyan-2 project were broken by some evil class people with hammers and knives and purposely promoted it in the media.
He said these things in his speech at the beginning of the meeting of the Awami League Executive Parliament at the Ganobhaban on Thursday, September 9.
Sheikh Hasina said that about 150,000 houses have been constructed under the shelter project, but only 300 houses have been found to be defective. He said, whenever we got the information of breaking the house, we conducted a complete survey through the special team. I have got all the information about who is involved, everyone's name and address. In a few places, soil deve houses were damaged due to heavy rains, but in nine places we found evidence of corruption.
Complaining that the media did not investigate the reason behind the collapse of the house, Sheikh Hasina said that some media carried it and propagated it purposefully. But they didn't figure out how it happened.
Sheikh Hasina said that everyone has worked with sincerity in the construction of houses under the Asharyan-2 project and said that everyone who was involved in this project has worked with sincerity. All the employees, including UNO-DC, who were entrusted with the responsibility, many came forward themselves to help in building the houses. But, there are some wicked minds among them - that is the most difficult thing, when it is a house of the poor, how do they reach there?
