165 million doses of Corona vaccine to arrive by January

At a press conference on current affairs held at the Health Ministry's conference room on Thursday afternoon, Health Minister Zahid Malek said, "A decision has been made to purchase another 165 million doses of vaccine to prevent coronavirus, which will arrive in Bangladesh between September and January."
He said, "We have 38.3 million registrations. 18.6 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine. 8.2 million people have received the second dose. In addition, 12.2 million vaccines are in hand."
The Health Minister said that the Covid situation is now somewhat under control compared to before. The infection rate has come down to 11 percent, which was up to 32 percent a few days ago. As you know, many things including industries have been opened. However, the good news is that the infection rate is decreasing. About 75 percent of the beds in the hospital are now empty. So the number of patients has come down a lot. The death rate has also come down. We have to work according to health safety. Opening up does not mean that we will roam around without following hygiene rules. If this happens, there is a possibility of corona increasing again like it did last time.
He also said that Corona is not gone yet, so everyone should follow hygiene rules and social distancing.
