Awami League is forming the government for the fourth consecutive time

Awami League is forming the government for the fourth consecutive time. The party is forming the government in the 12th National Parliament under the leadership of the party's president and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Polling for the 12th National Assembly started at 8 am on Sunday (January 7) and lasted until 4 pm. About 40% voted in 299 constituencies.

28 in this election without BNP Political party 1,534 candidates contested the election. Besides, there were 436 people in the polling field as independent candidates. Most of the independents are party leaders of various levels of Awami League.

223 candidates have won this election. Jatiya Party got 26 seats in compromise. The party has won 11 seats out of this.

In this election without BNP, Awami League gave freedom to party leaders to be independent to attract voters to polling stations. This strategy also works. In the air of individualism, the air of election accumulates. Independent candidates have won 62 seats this time. Most of these independent candidates are party leaders of various levels of Awami League. Candidates of other parties got two seats.

In Mymensingh-3 seat, the candidate Nilufar Anjum Popi is ahead, but the declaration of results has been postponed as the result of one center was canceled and the difference of votes between the rival candidates was less than 1000.

The Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule for the 12th National Assembly elections on November 15. The last date for submission of nominations was 30 November. The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is kept till December 17. And from December 18 to January 5 at 8 am, the time to run the campaign is kept.
