Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has emphasized the need to further modernize the education system in line with science, technology, and globalization.
Reviewing the draft presentation of the national curriculum outline at Ganabhaban on Monday (September 13), he said - the educational program must be modernized.
The Prime Minister also said, "The world is moving forward, science and technology are moving forward, we have to keep pace with it. For this, it is absolutely essential to make the education program timely. We will work based on our policies. But we always have to keep pace with the world."
There was a time when students did not want to take science courses. After coming to power, we gave importance to science education. Our government has established 12 science and technology universities. Since we are building a digital Bangladesh, we need to build a more science-minded nation in order to build a digital Bangladesh.
Referring to the reopening of educational institutions on Sunday (September 12) after a long time, the Prime Minister said, "Alhamdulillah, we have opened schools and colleges from Sunday, and gradually all of them will open. As a result, educational activities will start anew."
Sheikh Hasina praised the role of those concerned in keeping educational activities running during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said, "You have taken considerable initiatives when everything is at a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic. Especially in the field of education, how can the education system be made more attractive to students in line with the current era?"
Highlighting the construction of new educational institutions in different areas, the Prime Minister said, "We are building schools in areas where there were no schools. We are a country of rivers, canals, and beels. Considering the communication and transportation arrangements for small children, we have taken measures to build schools in different areas."
