Free winter vegetable seeds and money have been distributed to the farmers during Kharif-II season under the rehabilitation program for flood affected small and marginal farmers in Rangunia for the year 2024-25.
The distribution program was formally inaugurated at noon on Tuesday (November 5) in the hall of the Upazila Agriculture Office. Upazila Agriculture Officer Imrul Kayes presided over it. Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mahmudul Hasan was the chief guest. Assistant Agricultural Extension Officer Sukumar Talukder was the special guest.
On this day, 20 packets of eight types of vegetable seeds were given to a farmer's homestead for vegetable cultivation and 1000 rupees was given as cash assistance through mobile banking. In this way, a total of 700 farmers of the upazila have been helped.
