Suman Kumar Nitai, Staff Correspondent: A young man named Md. Rimon (18) died in a motorcycle accident in Nandigram, Bogra while leaving his home for a trip to Cox's Bazar. Another rider named Md. Rakib (19) has been admitted to Bogra Shajimech Hospital in a serious condition, it has been reported.
The deceased Rimon was the son of Taleb Ali of Ningram School Para in Bhatgram Union No. 5 of the upazila. The seriously injured Rakib Hossain was the son of Munsur Ali of the same village. The deceased Rimon worked as a mechanic at a motorcycle workshop near the Kunderhat bus stand in Nandigram.
According to local sources, 40 members of Ningram Schoolpara left their homes for a trip to Cox's Bazar on Wednesday (September 20) and came to Kunderhat bus stand. The bus was parked there and everyone was gathering together. At one point, Rimon and Rakib were going to Nandigram from Kunderhat on a Wang-125cc motorcycle to buy a back cover for a mobile phone. On the way, they reached the Nandigram Rural Electricity Sub-station on the Bogra-Nator highway at 6:30 pm when an unknown vehicle hit them and the motorcycle lost control on the highway and fell on the road.
Later, upon receiving news of the accident, members of Nandigram Fire Service and Civil Defense rescued the two seriously injured people and took them to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Hospital for treatment. The doctor on duty there declared Rimon Hossain dead.
Kunderhat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abbas Ali said that upon receiving the news of the accident, members of the fire service took two seriously injured people to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared Rimon Hossain dead. He added that legal action will be taken regarding the road accident.
