A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of Martyr Intellectual Day at Bhurungamari in Kugram.
The discussion meeting was held on Sunday (December 14) morning at the upazila parishad conference room in the upazila administration.
Animeter Shahadat Hossain spoke in the chairmanship of the brave freedom fighter Abdul Majid Sarkar, Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Abdul Jabbar, Upazila Engineer Inchaful Haque Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge Azim Uddin, Bhurungamari Government College Representative MA Abdul Jalil, Jati Nagrik Party (NCP) Chief Samantak Mahfuzul Islam Kiran, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Sura Member Ferdous Hossain, BNP representative, Ani Uzu Ani Ani Uzu Ani Aar Uz.
The speakers said that December 14, 1971 is a painful day in the history of the Bengali nation. On the eve of independence, the Pakistani invader forces and their allies have planned to brutally kill the country's best children, teachers, doctors, journalists, writers and intellectuals, and we have got an independent state in the return of the sacrifice of martyred intellectuals.
They also said that everyone should work unitedly to build the country by holding the ideals of the martyred intellectuals. The spirit of the liberation war should be spread among the new generation.
At the end of the discussion meeting, special prayers and prayers will be offered for the souls of the martyred intellectuals.
The meeting was attended by officials of various government offices, brave freedom fighters, teachers, journalists, anti-politician, anti-discrimination student leaders, social organizations and scout members were present.
