A decision to resolve the crisis at the secretariat will be taken once Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus returns home after his visit to Japan, said ASM Saleh Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Land Ministry.
He said this while talking to reporters on Wednesday.
The Land Secretary said that the Cabinet Secretary will inform the Chief Advisor about the demands of the Secretariat Officers-Employees Unity Forum. A decision will be taken after discussing the matter when the Chief Advisor returns home from Japan after a four-day state visit.
Principal Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is on a visit to Japan to attend the Nikkei Forum's 'Future of Asia' conference. During the visit, he will also hold a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The Principal Advisor is scheduled to return home on May 31 after completing the tour.
Earlier, a meeting with employee leaders began at 2:45 pm yesterday, Tuesday, in the conference room of the Land Ministry, chaired by Land Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed. Five more secretaries participated in the meeting. In addition, representatives of various organizations of employees protesting at the Secretariat joined the meeting. After the meeting with the secretaries, it was announced in a press briefing by both sides protesting at the Secretariat that the agitating employees have suspended their program until 10 am today, Wednesday, to facilitate discussions and convey the demands of the Secretariat officials and employees to the Cabinet Secretary.
