Zillur Rahman Royal, Nandigram (Bogra) Representative: Helpless Elina Khatun got a house with the personal financing of Nandigram Municipality and Mayor Anichur Rahman of Bogra. Elina Khatun, daughter of Ibrahim Hossain of Ward No. 9 of Nandigram Municipality, is highly educated but still helpless due to the cruel irony of fate. Abandoned by her husband, Elena used to live with her little son in another's house.
Being highly educated, Elina's self-esteem prevented her from doing housework in other people's homes. Even after that, Elena works as a maid in other's house without thinking about the shame of having a little boy and running her own life. Anishur Rahman, the mayor of Nandigram municipality, rushed to hear about Elina's plight. Within a few days, Nandigram Municipality and Mayor Anichur Rahman made arrangements for Elina to stay in a one-room tinshed house at a cost of around half a lakh taka on another's land with personal financing. Elena is very happy.
Elina Khatun joyfully got up with her child in the newly built room and said, "Even though I am highly educated, I am still very helpless due to the cruel irony of fate." There is no one to look after me and my child. So you have to live with your child by working as a maid in someone else's house. I have no place to live. Mathagonza had no place but our Nandigram Municipality Mayor Anichur Rahman gifted me a house as Mathagonza's place. I am very happy to have this house. I can stay in my own house after working in other people's houses all day.
Nandigram Municipality Mayor and Upazila Awami League General Secretary Anichur Rahman handed over the key of the newly constructed house to Elina on Wednesday (November 22) around 11:00 am. Panel Mayor Saiful Islam, Municipal Executive Officer Shaheen Mahmud and Ward 9 Councilor Abu Saeed Milan and others were present at that time.
Nandigram Municipality Mayor Anichur Rahman said, Elina Khatun is very talented and a poor-helpless girl with BA. He had no house to live in. So with the financing of Nandigram Municipality and my personal funds, I built a one-room tinshed house for Elina. After that he will be given other facilities as well. I am on the side of the poor and helpless people and will be inshAllah.
