Protest rally against attack on Jubo League leaders and activists in Nandigram

A protest rally was held at Trimohani Bazar on Tuesday (January 4) at 4 pm under the initiative of the Union Jubo League to protest the attack on Thalta Majhagram Union Jubo League President Baidyanath and Vice-President Jahangir Alam Zillur by Thalta Majhagram Union Chairman Abdul Matin and his forces.
Thalta-Mazhgram Union Jubo League Vice President GM Pavel presided over the event, while District Jubo League President Subhashish Poddar Liton delivered the keynote address. He said that attacks on Jubo League leaders and activists will not be tolerated. He warned that any attempt to attack in the future would be repelled. Aminul Islam Dablu, General Secretary of District Jubo League, moderated by Aminul Islam Benazir, Joint Secretary of Upazila Jubo League, delivered the keynote address.
The special guests of the protest meeting were Upazila Chairman Rezaul Ashraf Jinnah, Upazila Jubo League President and Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Dulal Chandra Mahanta, District Jubo League Joint General Secretary (proposed) Sajedur Rahman Siju, Maisul Tofail Koel, Organizing Secretary Rubel Hossain, Cultural Affairs Secretary Enamul Haque Monir, and Awami League leader Hafizur Rahman Nantu.
Among the leaders present at the meeting were Upazila Jubo League Vice President Abdus Salam, M. R. Zaman Russell, Joint Secretary Zillur Rahman Royal, Organizing Secretary Akhtar Hossain Sumon, Jubo League leaders Shahinur Rahman, Mohir Uddin, Sirajul Islam Shukur, Liton Kumar Chauhan, Dilip Kumar Mahanta, Faruk Ahmed, Upazila Chhatra League Vice President Joydev Kumar and others.
It is worth mentioning that on December 28, a case was filed at the police station against newly elected and current chairman Abdul Matin and his family members for allegedly assaulting Union Jubo League vice-president Jahangir Alam Zillur at Trimohani Bazar. Earlier, a complaint was filed at Nandigram police station alleging that some people had ambushed and injured Union Jubo League president Baidyanath Mahanta on the orders of chairman Matin during the Union Parishad elections.
