In Nandigram, robbery of pesticide shop by cutting brick wall, CCTV memory missing

Nandigram (Bogra) Correspondent: In Nandigram, Bogra, an incident of robbery has taken place in a pesticide shop by cutting a brick wall. Nandigram Thana police visited the spot after receiving a complaint about the theft.

According to the information received, two lakh 26 thousand worth of syngenta company's pesticides and one and a half lakh cash kept in the drawer were stolen by cutting the brick wall of M/s Khadija Traders Fertilizer and Pesticide shop at Kunderhat of Nandigram upazila last Tuesday midnight.

Abdul Khalek, the owner of M/s Khadija Traders, said that he closed the shop last Tuesday night and went home. The next morning, he came to the shop and saw that the brick wall behind the shop was cut and the Syngenta company's Virtaco, Sabikron, Emister and Score were kept in the drawer. One and a half lakh rupees in cash was stolen. Thieves take away the memory card of the CCTV camera while stealing.

The shopkeeper also said that my shop has been stolen twice before, now I am insecure about this shop and I want proper justice after investigation. Besides, on the same night, thieves tried to steal the shop by cutting the window rod of the pesticide shop of M/s Ananya Trades at Kunderhat bus stand. But the thieves fled after sensing the presence of the market's night guard. When talking to the local shopkeepers about this, they said that due to the negligence of the night guards, the incidents of theft are happening again and again.

When asked, Zulfiqar Ali Fokkar, president of the market committee, said that there is a large influx of outsiders in the Kunderhat market and drugs are being sold freely due to which theft is increasing.

In this regard, Nandigram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azamgir Hossain Azam said that after receiving the complaint, the police have visited the spot and are investigating and taking legal action.
