Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, said that the government is being appalled by the incidents of disappearances, murders, violation of human rights and taking away the voting rights of people.
He said these things after the torch procession on the Asian Highway at the international trade fair area on Saturday night. The torch march was held to protest the release of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the conviction of Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman in a false case and protest against loadshedding across the country.
After the rally, the leader of BNP said that the power system of the country has taken a terrible shape due to the terrible looting and corruption of the government. The economic situation is collapsing. Now the government ministers are commenting the opposition party's criticism as rumours, to hide this turbulent state of the country. The real facts can no longer be hidden by making up false stories. The people of the country can no longer be fooled. The government's time is up. People are getting angry. Soon the farewell bell of this government will ring.
Thousands of leaders and activists including Narayanganj district BNP member and Rupganj upazila BNP joint convener Sharif Ahmed Tutul, district Jubo Dal leader Amirul Islam Imon, Chhatra Dal leader Sultan Mahmud were also present in the protest march.
