Even in May this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden reported the detention of a citizen of the country in Iran, but it was not confirmed whether it was this person or not. At that time, it was said by Sweden that Iraq arrested a Swedish tourist aged approximately 30 years. However, this was not confirmed by Iran at that time.
According to the statement, the ministry's investigation showed that the Swedish suspect used professional communication, security and secrecy techniques to communicate with European and non-European people in Iran.
The ministry also said the Swedish citizen re-entered Iran shortly after the arrest of "another European spy" a few months ago.
The Swedish national's aim was to find out how 'another European spy' was captured and what information he had, the ministry claimed.
